Some Nice Ride Loops from Windy Acres
All maps were generated with Microsoft Streets & Trips. The number points on the maps are not points of interest, just markers to get the software to turn where I wanted it to.
There could be any number of variations or breakout routes to those shown. These are just some nice rides.
Dunnellon / Sleepy Hollow route:
Almost 118 mile loop north and west of Windy Acres.
Tours through some nice horse country and scenic roads. Passes
by Sleepy Hollow if you need to quench your thirst.
North East (Umatilla area)
Approximately 52 miles north and east of Windy Acres. Passes
Blue Heron on 42 at the Ocklawaha River.
North Short Loop
Approximately 52 miles north and a little west. Ma Barkers and
Gator Joes in Ocklawaha, Kool Kats near Belview.
South Lake County Loop
Approximately 102 mile south loop from Windy Acres. This and
the next loop both include Sugar Loaf Mountain. If you take
this route, be sure to stop at The Rockin' Chair Inn when passing
through Webster. You almost miss it, but riders from our last
Halloween Poker run said they had the best bean soup.
South East including Sugar Loaf
Approximately 78 mile loop. Little bit shorter route to Sugar
Loaf.
West Loop, Ozello Trail
Approximately 134 miles. Fairly straight shot across 44 to
Crystal River, then south to Ozello Trail. The next 10 miles
is why you came this far. Wonderful curvy, scenic route
through beautiful Florida salt marsh. Great restaurant near
